Former Georgia Tech defensive end Emmanuel Dieke said that 11 or 12 teams have been in touch with him to make sure he’s healthy and to check draft-day contact information. He and former Tech end Jeremiah Attaochu had a private workout with New York Giants defensive line coach Robert Nunn, who Dieke said gave him positive feedback afterwards.
“He told me I move pretty well,” Dieke said, “that I definitely helped my draft stock in terms of my workout and performance.”
Among teams contact Dieke or his agent have been the Giants, Flacons, Houston, Tampa Bay, Oakland, Jacksonville, Minnesota and Detroit.
“The Giants speak very highly of him, as does Minnesota,” agent Marcus Williams said. “I think he’s got an opportunity at being a draft pick.”
Draft Insider praised his effort and change of direction but said he has “a ways to go before he’ll be NFL ready,” giving him an undrafted free-agent grade.
