Autry intends to be at Tech by July

By Ken Sugiura

Georgia Tech signee Myles Autry sent out a Twitter message Tuesday assuring followers that he will be at Tech soon. Autry, a running back from Norcross High, did not report Tuesday morning to Tech with the rest of the incoming freshman class because he has not yet been admitted.

“I’ll Be At Georgia Tech First Week of July,” Autry wrote from his Twitter account Tuesday afternoon.

Autry, perhaps the most highly sought-after member of Tech’s 22-player signing class, is expected to challenge for playing time at A-back this fall. Autry, the younger brother of Tech wide receiver Anthony Autry, led Norcross to back-to-back Class 6A state titles as a junior and senior. He chose Tech over Florida State and Ohio State, among many others.

Great. I'm looking forward to seeing Myles play. I've been buying season tickets for 35 years, and I've seen some good backs at Tech. I think Myles can be among the best, maybe THE best.

Go Jackets!

Most everybody has good intentions Let's put some motivation and action behind those intentions in order to see that they come about.

Why yall keep feeding the Troll that's what he wants..

Anyway disparaging Stanford doesn't make GT look any better, they are a better program & per rankings a better academic institution with deeeeeeppp pockets. But that's them...

Good for Autry I hope he's hit the books and has everything cleared so he can be good to go for fall.

This is simply more proof that the academic standard at GT are harder than many football factories.

RuPaul the Misogynist is at it again.  Apparently he's mad at all these young athletes being "manlier" than 'ol RuPaul...

Cool. Even earlier than I thought. The kid was always on track. Good to see he is motivated to get started.

So much for all the horse feces put out by certain posters today (and every day).

See you in July Miles!

@OldJacketFan  Really is pathetic.  Eveyrthing is CPJ's fault apparently.  Even when he has no control over the situation.  I recall B'hamJacket saying we should drop down to the FCS level as well because it was obvious we don't care about our football program.

"We" don't care doesn't refer to Johnson. He cares, but is obviously handicapped to an extent by Techs requirements. Good to see Miles is on track. Still, Custis was a huge loss IMO. Never would have happened at Clemson, Miami, VT, FSU or UGA---I.e our competition. "We" should have made darn sure he qualified.

Birmingham,

There is only one way to make "darn" sure that a student athlete stays qualified.  Cheat.

It is called academic support for a reason.  You support the academic endeavors of the SAs.  But at the end of the day, they still have to do the work and take responsibility.  So then it is impossible to guarantee that all athletes will remain eligible.... unless you are cheating.

@RuePaulJohnson @BleedingGold

And what does Stanford have to do with the topic at hand? Nothing other your usual bull feces.I know you have issues with simple things but staying on topic isn't that hard, is it?

@GTfan2013 imagine how good USA soccer would be if Hispanic soccer players were exploited the way american football playing kids are......

@OldJacketFan @RuePaulJohnson @BleedingGold Stanford is a "Model School."  They suspended Skov for all of one game when he had his DUI.  The student board waited util after the season before thay suspended him for a quarter.  Being a private school, they can play fast and loose with any rules that get in their way.  That's why they had an easy course list until they got caught with it.  They are the next UNC waiting to happen.
