Recent Georgia Tech graduate Bo Andrews and incoming freshman Jacob Joiner both qualified for the U.S. Amateur golf championship, to be played at the Atlanta Athletic Club in August.
Along with senior Ollie Schniederjans and recent graduate Seth Reeves, Tech will have four representatives at the tournament, to be played Aug. 11-17. Both qualified by virtue of their amateur rankings; Schniederjans is ranked No. 1 in the world among amateurs and Reeves is No. 26.
Andrews, who graduated in May, finished third in a qualifier at Great Waters at Reynolds Plantation with a two-round score of 6-under 138. Five spots were available in the event.
Joiner, from Leesburg, tied for first at a qualifier at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Fla., with a 5-under 139 for two rounds. Both events were played Monday and Tuesday.
