Attaochu ‘ball of energy’ at Chargers camp

By Ken Sugiura

Seven-time Pro Bowler Dwight Freeney gave former Georgia Tech All-American Jeremiah Attaochu quite a compliment in a recent radio interview with 1090-AM in San Diego.

“Jerry, he’s a ball of energy,” Freeney said of his San Diego Chargers rookie teammate. “He reminds me of myself when I came out.”

Attaochu, a second-round pick of the Chargers, is taking his first steps in the NFL at the Chargers camp. The linebacker has something of a mentor in Freeney, who joined the Chargers prior to the 2013 season after becoming the Indianapolis Colts’ all-time sack leader.

Said Attaochu in a recent interview with the Chargers website, “I’m just trying to embrace it, knowing that everybody’s gone through it.”

Link to the interview. Freeney’s comments on Attaochu are at the very end.

Remind me again who the Falcons took in the second round instead of Sneezy.

Sure would be nice to see a local kid playing on the home town team. Oh well, with the Falcons draft history, maybe not.

The NFL is loaded with "ball of energy" players.

Talent decides success in that League.

I valued Attachou as a Day 3, 4th Round grade.

Lets see him in coverage, lets see him set an edge in the NFL, lets see him handle the top LT's & RT's in the business.

Luckily for him, he'll get to practice against the best RT in the biz....DJ Fluker.

@BigCrimson75 Its amazing that NFL teams aren't paying you a high salary to do their pre draft evaluations for them.

@Mr. Negative  What?

That hasn't happened for 3 years now.

Darius Philon was the last to my recollection.

Pre-Season All-SEC for the Hogs according to some publications.
