Georgia Tech coach Brian Gregory on Marcus Georges-Hunt: “He’s made a lot of game-winning shots for us in his four years. He’s missed some, too, and he doesn’t bat an eye when we call his number on those big plays. He doesn’t bat an eye. That’s why he’s a great player.” (AP Photo/Todd Kirkland)

“(Notre Dame guard Steve Vasturia) gave me enough space to get a head of steam a little bit, and once he cut me off, I spun back. I was thinking somebody was going to be right there, but he was a step late, and as I spun, I had an opportunity to get my eye on the rim and I locked in and put up a shot. A couple possessions before that, the ball was going in and out for me, but I got the one that counted the most. That’s one thing I can say. I didn’t get down about the in-and-outs. I felt like, if I would have missed the shot, there were enough guys around me – Charles (Mitchell) and Nick (Jacobs) –to get the rebound and put it back in.” – Guard Marcus Georges-Hunt on the game-winning shot

“If it wasn’t for Quinton (Stephens) sprinting off the screens to get the defense shifted, and Charles screening in my man – that helped a lot, too. That’s what got me open, really, because once I caught it, he was too far under me, and that’s what gave me the opportunity to attack him. Chuck did a great job of screening in and making him go under him. I think that’s what freed me up, Quinton and Charles.” – Georges-Hunt

“I told (Georges-Hunt) I’m happy for him. We have five seniors, and this has got to be about them and about the guys overall. But those five seniors, they’re going to determine if we finish on a high note or not. They really are.” – coach Brian Gregory

“Great night for our team. Obviously, an unbelievable night for Georgia Tech, with the capital campaign (officially concluding), all the donors and events before the game, they were at the game. What a great game to be at. Great crowd, unbelievable energy in the building.” – Gregory

“That loss was definitely on our minds since we played them. It’s one thing Coach said. Over a month ago, we’re definitely not the same team we were last time we played them. That time we played them, the ball wasn’t moving, guys weren’t getting other guys open. We didn’t play as a unit. Our energy was low and (Saturday), we came out and fought.” – forward Nick Jacobs

“It was a great college game – two teams really fighting, and I give Tech credit, because they made more plays than us.” – Notre Dame coach Mike Brey
